What Is Acetic Acid Water?
We supply Acetic Acid Water as a dilute (0.1%) laboratory-grade solvent for reconstituting research peptides that are less stable in standard bacteriostatic water. We manufacture it to a defined standard. Importantly, we restrict distribution to qualified researchers and laboratory personnel.
Research Applications
Researchers commonly use a dilute acetic acid solution to reconstitute peptides such as IGF-1 analogues. These compounds tend toward instability in bacteriostatic water because of their structure and isoelectric point. An appropriately acidic solvent keeps them in solution and reduces material loss to precipitation.
Laboratories working with a range of peptide types often keep both solvents on hand and choose based on solubility profile. That said, acetic acid water isn’t a universal substitute for bacteriostatic water. We generally reserve it for compounds specifically noted as more soluble in an acidic solution.
Purity, Testing & Quality Assurance
We manufacture each batch under controlled conditions and sterile-filter it. Consequently, laboratories can expect consistent solution quality across vials, supporting reproducibility when reconstituting multiple samples for a single study. We retain batch documentation and make it available on request. For independent chemical reference data, researchers can consult the PubChem compound database.
Storage & Reconstitution
Once opened, researchers should store the solution refrigerated and use it within a reasonable timeframe. Unopened vials stay stable at room temperature but do best out of direct light. We recommend inspecting vial clarity before each use and discarding any solution with visible particulates.
Usage Restrictions
This product serves laboratory and in vitro research only. It is not a medicine, and researchers must not use it for human or animal consumption.
Related Research Compounds
We use it commonly alongside IGF-1 class peptides in our Growth Factor Research category. It pairs with Bacteriostatic Water as the standard reconstitution solvent for other peptide types.
